After A While
Friday, May 30, 2008
After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesnt mean leaning and company doesnt mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses arent contracts and presents arent promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child
the best way to listen to your heartbeat was to be in your arms.
the best way to listen to my favourite songs is to have my ipod plugged into each of our ears, and the other used to hear each other's breathing.
And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's grounds are to uncertain for plans.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
the best way to smell the rain is through your shirt
and the best way to end the day is to...
you learn that you can endure
you learn that you are strong
you learn that you do have worth
and you learn and learn, with every goodbye.
